This evergreen shrub is the perfect plant for your garden if you want low growing ground cover. They will reach about 30cm in height and continue to spread across the ground - but don't worry, they're easy to keep under control. It may not be the best plant to have if you have a pet, as eating its leaves will cause nausea and discomfort.
CARE FOR YOUR BERRIED GAULTHERIA: Plant Gaultheria a.k.a. Winterberry in partial or full shade, in acidic soil if possible, but they will survive in neutral. This hardy plant can survive temperatures as low as -10°C so a normal winter in the UK should not harm the plant. Super easy to grow and not particularly susceptible to pests, this is a great plant to bring some visual interest to your garden.
